The thing is, with Asian arowana, its not about the money...

This fish is in a class of its own, holding so much tradition and history... it has HUGE cultural significance in many parts of the world. This fish is involved in myths and legends that date back to who knows when. When i look in my arowana tank i don't "just see a fish", i see something much more significant than "just a fish", i truly am mezmorized. The thing is to many people who don't know what its all about or don't have the same passion for asian arowana it really is "just another fish" hence they label you a nutcase when you pay 2-3 gs for a fish. People who love this fish can tell the slightest differences between the separate strains of asian arowana... and as slight as they may seem, those slight differences command a huge price difference. Higher shine, better pearlies, large finnage and unique coloration may not be worth paying the extra thousand or 2 dollars to many, but thats what separates quality arowana to regular ones, making it a no brainer to arofanatics.

I'm not rich, i am a normal middle class citizen... but i would not hesitate to drop 2000-3000 for a high quality asian arowana.

why pay 2k for an arowana, when you can get a low grade rtg or gold for 900, and most of the time they will end up looking better than the hi grades?

You have seen this first hand?

true i have xbacks in with RTG right now and the xbacks are much nicer gold intesaty and color gold bars :D

Mermaids are also involved in legends but were mistaken from fat sea cows, dugongs and manatees :D I am sure that the Asian is the best Aro to own, at least for color among the other admirable traits. Too bad, I can't have one. I instead have to watch my jar and silver swim back and forth in their cramped quarters.
