Take 2 large cichlids from the same fry, and isolate them. Feed them one a well-balanced diet.. Feed the other only goldfish.. Watch what happens

A friend of mine did this with 2 Jaguar cichlids.. One grew twice as fast and had nice pink/green coloration on some shades of its scales. You guess who ate what

very diets is the way to go I started to think that feeders were where its at but i quickly learned that a real DIET is the way to go but i feed gold right now along with other supliments but i am thinking about switching to roseys

I bought a puffer from a guy that had been feeding it only feeder GF. It didn't last long... Did an autrosy & even with my limited knowladge of fish innards, it was quite clear to me that fish died of liver disease. Instead of soft & pink, the liver was hard as a rock & yellow.
