I was offered a 4" green terror with hump for $30? Are they rare with the hump or some sort of flowerhorn hybrid? Is $30 an average price? So far, I've not seen a green terror with hump before this.

$30 isnt the best deal but its not that steep either in Aussie eyes, The hump is a build up of fat and is fairly common in GTs, Because it has a hump doesnty nessaserly mean its a boy either thoe.

well i would pay 30$ for a male Green Terror....It is most likely a male but if you can post some pics we can give you a better answer..green terror cant breed with flowerhorns but only with other GT's and maybe Acaras..take care of the GT they are IMO the best cichlid to have...make sure to read the right information about them...

ive happen to have seen a gt and flowerhorn hybrid

I think GTs are awesome. A hump means it is probably male. (I've never seen a female GT w/ one anyway)

Not worth $30 though, you could get a nice adult for that price, and they grow slooooooooooooow.

I don't have the fish yet, still debating if I should get it, so no pics. How old is a 4 incher should be? I saw him in a tank with 10 others, but he is the only one that has a hump. I hope he is a male, since I have no intention to breed. Thanks everybody for the advice.

A four incher can be up to a year old depending on the tank, water parameters, etc. that he was kept in. Although it should be younger than a year.

If you have no intention of breeding it then why do you care that the GT be male?

The hump might decrease if there won't be a female in the tank.
