My House!
If hypothetically you won a raffle at your favorite lfs, what would you buy?

I was in my lfs earlier and the guy was talking about running a raffle next Xmas with a $1000 voucher for the store as first prize, and it got me thinking about what people might buy with a decent sum of money that they could only spend at the lfs.

For the sake of fun we'll up the amount to $5000.

With $5000 I'd upgrade my smallest tank (the store doesn't sell tanks larger than my bigger ones), get new/better heaters and filters and get new décor (more wood/rocks) for my tanks.. And if I were lucky enough and the store had one I'd get a second L397 pleco as well.

Your turn, $5000 to spend at your favorite LFS, what would you buy? :D

Definitely get a new tank. No new fish but current stock would get an upgrade.

Well, I could go with 2 mediumish tanks, 6x2x2 180gal range. One for my current fish to move into and the other for a pair of Red Terrors.
Or get a huge, 8x2x2 240gal for my current fish and a few more added in like more Oscars, a female RT, a mediumish large catfish, or a school of picture cats, increase my Roseline sharks school to 20ish.
Hard choice, beings how The Wet Spot is my LFS.

buy a nice acrylic pentagon corner tank with a custom stand for starters. maybe one of those fancy prefab sumps for it too. 5k only goes so far when you get into acrylic tanks though lol.

I could get twin Marineland 300dd tanks, though I’d like the taller stand and that might push a little over 5k. Alternatively 3 of them bare tanks and well worth the outlay for custom stands.

I have wanted to do a larger reef tank for awhile but spend all my pet money on newts

I would buy all the materials they sell for building a 1000g tank. Pond paint, filters, pumps, heaters ect.

Then i'd stock it with 3 Orange Spotted Snakeheads and 5 Peacock Bass

Get a nice tank setup with all the stuff I had to improvise before. I would say 1/3 of the money on the tank, the remainder on equipment and upgrades. I wouldn't mind getting a new tank buster if I had the overhead to support him.

Its interesting to see some of the responses, I love the fact that the majority of them are along the lines of "tank upgrade" :D
