Right now I have them under a 26 watt cfl lamp in my kitchen. I am going to pick up one of those Hampton bay desk lamps that will also serve as a light source for my 4gallon.
If its not 10 gallons or less you better park it.

Yes I used a half of a straw to put the sand in and tweezers to place the rocks and plants. I used a medicine dropper to fill them water. After I finished them I though I should have measured how much water they hold.
