Another reason quality. True discus people are picky and see any little problem in a fish wrong fins shape wrong eye size not round enough body poor color weak pattern. The list goes on. Discus people will pay that extra money for high quality fish.
Also differant strains are more money because they are rare or new.
For a 2"-3" discus you could pay $20-$60 depending on strain and quality. The larger the fish the more money 5-6" $100+ .
So it all depends.
