oscar, may seem common and boring to some but you dont need a massive tank, they are probably the most personable, they will jump out of the water for food and are predatory, they glass bite and are colourful... what more do you need.

they are a great fish. always loved them so I never knock them. o just don't like them if the pester my gars

Hard to say just one but always have to have a catfish in my tanks. love lima cats

actually though about saying brown bullhead. when I was younger I raised 6 of them up to around 10" from under 1" and they would hand feed until their stomachs couldn't take any more. I loved them

If I'm only keeping one fish, I'd go for a rather large tank. Red tail catfish time!
