I vote Amazon biotope; it would look phenomenal and help to ensure harmony between the tankmates. You could still have the South American lungfish in the water area and get some lizards and/or snakes from the Amazon such as a green basilisk or an Amazon tree boa.

Also, by my approximations, if you use the entire bottom area nearly up to the doors then you'll have around 90 gallons of water to work with. The footprint of the bottom is more than enough for even the largest SAL, so it shouldn't be a problem to house the one from your friend in there.
