If you have a soul help!!!!! Question on a experiment expert advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
OB M. Estherae are all female, BUT there is a variant of the OB Zebra called a BlueBerry, its a Metriaclima Sp. not an Estherae. As for the blue ones Its hard by looking at pictures to tell whether its a male Estherae, which is blue, or a Callainos which is also blue. These are all of the problems that arise from trying to ID Cichlids via picture... very hard in some cases. If I was to see them in person it would be much easier.

And again... YES, they can all mix... AND please do me one HUGE favor???... if you hybridize fish please do it for yourself, and do not distribute them... health issues and temperments can come from making hybrids and some of us who keep African Cichlids would like to keep as much of the original strains together as we can.

Thanks... good luck with the tank:)
How many fish can I keep in that 75?
Im just trying to have a cool addition to my tank. I am educated in biology and I like to see something new every once in a while. Also when I go back it would make for a good experiment. I love fish I have around 14 tanks and always buying more its a passion of mine to keep fish. I love watching and taking care of fish! Thank you man you been really helpful! One last quesion why do the texas cichlid and the red devil breed if they are not of the same Genus? Just a question and do south americans regulary mix-breed?

how many zebras or Metriaclima can I keep in the 75 gallon! The splochy Metriaclima are black and orange and some have blue sheen to over the black them. I think these are the males!

in a 75 what you are stocking... Id say Max of around 25 they range from about 4 to 6" minimum, if healthy can reach 7" full grown, to keep that many for their full lifespan I suggest ultimatly getting at least a 120 in the next 2 years

Not a whole lot knowledgable of the New World Cichlids other than the names, regions, and size. Never experienced breeding or their specific social habits other than aggression. I do know that the Texas is a C/A, and Devil is S/A, they are both pretty aggressive and both get fairly big... so like I had mentioned before... Those 2 mixing would create a fairly large beast that would probably only be able to live in a tank alone due to its aggressive nature... to be certain, I would go ask more about it in the C/A and S/A Cichlid threads and see what people who actually keep these fish would say.

yeah... that works too...lol.... Im in the early stages of a 360g build myself... mainly because I have frontosa and Nimbochromis, and I want to be some where around 100 fish :D... IM halfway there

not as hard as it sounds or looks... i dunno... ive just been good at taking things apart and building things since I was little... Its my special gift I guess lol
