The water there in is ro water with tap water added until a kh of 5 is read, I then add blackwater extract,ro right, and discus essentials. I've found these guys swim more in freewater than up the sides of the tank and don't blow in the bottom as much, which I think causes them to burn more energy. They are about 9" and eat just about as much as my 15" castexi. I feed them 3 times a day and if food is left in the tank longer than 20 minutes they don't eat it. So I will basically feed them wait 1/2 hour then feed again and I'll do this 3 times a day when I can. They never seem to eat enough to ever get a jlo though. On weekends I'll drop in thawed minnows whenever I can also. With there swimming patterns I think my tank is way to small where motoros that size would have no problems. There are other small details which I can't think of right now. Temp is higher and I have to do more and smaller water changes with them and have water preheated or they don't eat as well.
