When I was 16, I was bitten by one, and of course I contracted Lyme Disiase. I was one of the first 10 cases discoverd in Wisconsin. I now have arthritis in my knees, and I thank God thats all I was left with, I have heard of much worse this little creature has left people with....MS, Heart Disease, and the list goes on....This little "disease" masks itself as other things....fatigue, rashes, joint pain, this makes it difficult for doctors to pin point.....This is how I was diagnosed, and also after a lot of blood tests....

Yes, I was. It was caught in its early stages. I was treated with various medications, tetracyclene(sp?) and a few others....

Ticks are so bad here , over 40% of outside dogs have lyme disease. Its always something spiders,ticks and the one hate the most mosquitoes. I dont like my kids outside on warm nights without bugspray on......

Yeah man,ur right no deaths but ive heard of many ppl, loosing limbs and "body parts" due to whitetail bites, and redback are the single leading cause of stings and deaths above snakes and marine life put together... But to answer ur question...yes to redbacks in Vic but no Funnel webs..only in hte very northern Vic and N.S.W
