DONT DO IT BRO, look on craigslist or something for a stand , iron stands are pretty cheap in the stores even. Ikea crap sux, my bed frame is from Ikea and only 3 months old and Literally collapsed on me last night. no B.S.. I definitly wouldnt rish a tank on it.

What were you doing?? Group slumber party?

Its currently supporting my 40 gallon right now. Its acrylic and bare bottom. I am definitely having second thoughts in having it support a 60 gallon tank. 50 gallons, maybe... hehehe....

What if I have cinder blocks along the empty spaces between the logs of the table?

It would probably hold the weight of a 60g tank just fine, until a small amount of lateral force was applied.

I was actually trying to rock it side to side last night just to see if it was stable enough. It didn't tumble over but then again why would I apply enough force for it to come crashing down.

sounds ugly... just buy a real stand or make ur own, stop being cheap.

You and a couple of buddies stand on the table for a few minutes and see how it holds up. Don't forget to have someone bump the table to make sure that it won't fall over when it's bumped a little.

I would doubt the force would be intentional, then again I guess I'm wrong if you were intentionally "rocking" your tank side to side:screwy: Personally I wouldn't want a stand that could collapse if someone stumbled into it.

Me and my brother actually did that. He's 170lbs and I'm 160. We stood one on each table. I guess we can say the two tables can support 330lbs of dead weight. Now #200 lbs more is a different story.

It just sucks that I live in an apartment and have no tools to build anything and i literally have to sneak in all my tanks...
