Illegal Americans?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think the most shocking part of this article is that our leaders have no concern for our sovergnty.I still can't figure out why we bend over backwards to kiss the culo of Mexico. As stated in another post, they have nothing to offer us.They'll take a dump all over us(Cuba?)and then get an attitude when we want to do something about it.And WE apologize for it.For what, so we can get an edge on the sombrero market?Has anybody ever explained to whatever jerkoff president they have over there what his people are doing to our healthcare system?I understand the theory of helping them better their country so they'll stay over there, but where is the limit of garbage we'll take from these people.

Isn't that why the fence is being built? If you can point me to the part of the article that mentions or points to a lack of concern for our nations sovereignty by it's very government, I'd be interested in reading that part, thank you.

The Cuban government mandated that those people be shipped out (see Scarface for quick info. breakdown at the beginning of the film about that crisis). Former Mexican president Vicente Fox held talks with our President concerning border issues, and Fox (in a public address) urged illegals in the U.S. to return to their country and focus on strengthening the State of Mexico to self dependency (although to no avail).

Now here's the silly part: some Mexican-Americans are IMO too touchy on the immigration issue (the ones you hear about in the news). Some get offended too easily (i.e. the setup of the new perimeter fence sparked mild controversy and protests [to no avail]). You can't blame them... they feel a sense of connection with the place their ancestors came from (many of the ones that it bothers are only first or second generation, as well as some latter generations I bet), but also because many still have close family members that are Mexican citizens.

I am a 3rd generation Mexican American, and I represent a growing number of 'Americanized' generations who realize the importance of maintaining the integrity of citizenship (my great great grandparents became legal citizens, and lived in Colorado). I disagree with the bias held by some of 'my people' on the issue just because of our background.

I agree and disagree with that. We've strengthened citizenship tests.(i.e. made it more difficult for immigrants to become citizens). However, in global politics, a level of respect must be maintained, or else our country would have no class. So it would be irresponsible (and set a poor example to the global community), to publicly slam, or have a 'devil-may-care' attitude, when it comes to these issues.

I agree however when it comes to irresponsible politicians awarding incentives to illegal immigrants (i.e. Gray Davis awarding illegal immigrants drivers license privileges [what the crap is that?], or 'Day Worker passes' from G-Dub) just to win over Mexican-American voters in SoCal; I agree, I call BS! on that, and it's wrong for our government to do that.

However, what our government might be 'apologizing' for, is an incident that happened back in the 1930's, when our government Unconstitutionally deported about one to two million legal Mexican American citizens as well as illegal immigrants. Who here didn't know that? Yet another American history blemish that you might not have learned in high school (also look into 'Black Wallstreet'). (http://campusapps.fullerton.edu/news/2005/170_mex_deportation.html) The link has a little info on the 1930's incident involving deportation.

So in closing, the whole reason I posted in this thread was to keep it honest, and share facts. When it comes to major issues; some people (myself included) when stating their opinions, may not have all the facts and form a preconceived stance (i.e. for me, the issue in the middle east. I thought Palestinians were a bunch of aggro terrorists until I learned how the U.N. was responsible for displacing them and giving their holy land to Israelis).

So, it's been great chatting about this, have a good one.

They show no concern for our sovereignty by apologizing to the Mexican government(read a little more carefully)for our people crossing 10m onto their side of the border. We could tell them to piss off or more realistically just ignore their "outrage".

I understand the sensitivity to the issue(my wife is from Monterrey, Mexico). Most of my in-laws are here illegaly. But no matter how you look at the issue, American citizens(native or otherwise)get the short end of the stick.

As far as what happened in the past, my flux capacitor is on the fritz. And it states in the article that American officials apologized for this recent event.

I seen some crazy shi t go down in Agua Prieta!! Stuff you never want to see or smell!! :(

I read it correctly. My point remains valid, how do you surmise that our government doesn't care about our sovereignty by apologizing? It proves the exact opposite. Goes back to my statement that we want to set a good example in the global community. It's what any respectable sovereign nation would do. Our sovereignty is not validated by incurring on a neighboring nation without consequence.

It's actually unrealistic to just ignore any reaction an equally sovereign nation has to a border incursion. As a matter of fact, the middle east violence is due to just that.

There is also a fundamental difference between illegal immigrants acting of their own will, and government contractors, who are ordered by a government body to do so.

Disappointing.
