Illegal baby turtles

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We make customers sign a waiver when they buy the turtles. Must have drivers license, must be 18. It says they are for educational... whatever but we sell them all the time. I don't know if it's right or not but thats the way it is. one fun part is the look on they're face when I tell them everything they need to care for the turtle. Priceless. :grinno:

*sighs* When are people going to learn you can't keep a turtle in a plastic dish with a plastic island and an ugly plastic tree? It breaks my heart every time I see someone giving away "free" turtles when you buy one of those stupid "turtle habitats." It's like making a person live in the bed of a pickup truck.

:iagree: Makes me feel bad what people do since they dont bother researching the proper care. My neighbor has two kids obivously each one has a turlte. They just have a 20g with a rock in it and 2inches of water no sun lamp nothing. Poor little guys, I told them how to take care of them but tey said thats too much work and it would only be more to clean. I also let her now they probably do eat due to lack of light. She sai, "good less to clean up afterwords"

I am to the point where I am going to buy everything myself and go overthere and set things up right and do the maintenance my self. Poor things cant even get out of the water if they wanted to so the climb up on eachother.

One other thing while I am VENTING!!!

When I bought my first Red Ear Slider care book, it showed pictures of how people buy the babys to paint their shells. SICK! I guess this was durring that 70's boom you mentioned Brook.
Dont people read? you just sentence it to a slow death!

Well im done ventign for now.:irked: :swear: :angryfire

If the one feeding the tortillas comes back, tell that person that turtles need turtle food, not Mexican food.

As one of the ancient ones that grew through the 70s and bought 50cent baby RES at Woolworth's I will say that the massive information that the internet brings to your living room did not exist in the 70s and the number of good reptile keeping books were less than a few. The mass of information you enjoy today was learned the old fashioned trial and error way. So, well it is sick it was not some evil plot, just learning in the early stages.

I am in Boston, here they are known as ChinaTown Tutles! really baby Red Eared Sliders, But any China Town Sells them illegal...

Thats funny I bought mine in China Town here in NYC. Guy wanted $15 for the turtle the stupid cage with the palm tree and some food. I told him, $5 for just the turtle...so he picked up a random empty McDonals cup off a New York City Street and put the turtle in there. Now thats GHETTO!

Is selling bootleg Everything not enough? Maybe the trutles are bootleg and their not real red eared sliders just fakes like the bags.
