So I suppose for someonme who can't ID them; that sucks, Game & Wildlife should not fine someone for not being able to ID a fish, & releasing it. Yes if they keep or kill forbiddens.

A couple weeks ago, in a no-fishing man-made lake(pond) saw 8 carp that were 36~40 inches long. I figure they would put up a heck of a fight.

Trouble is, they will fine you even if you don't know what species you just caught. The letter of the law is "ignorance of the law is no excuse". Still, most officers will let it slide if you're convincing and appear to really regret the catch & release of an illegal species.

By releasing it, you not only leave yourself open to trouble if you're spotted, you also have now made it possible for the illegal species to be caught by someone who may run to the media with it. This hobby already receives enough negative press.
You must destroy it. Just think "feeder" when you off it.

These 'violators' are not the ones who introduced it; I think the law should change. I don't write the laws.

heh, Oh the morrals *ROFLS* Sif any of your care man, it's not like it's an aro or something special, sure if I found a SH in the water I would keep it, but at the same time, I would report it to the NSW-Fisheries (after it was home in its new tank) :P I dislike people who tell me (while im at work)

I've heard that snakehead is a treat, that's how alot of them get exported over seas as asian seafoods etc.. I wonder if Rainbow SH's are tasty too?
 
Hmmzzz this is an interesting topic.

Jus wondering tho. Where in aus can i find whats a class a fish a being most illegal?

Cause i kno there are some fish eg class c where u can have but u cant sell or release and there some fish eg class b where u have to have a permit to have and etc.

Where could u access this information cause i want to kno what i can and cant have.
