...err dont you guys have a problem with introduced SH's breeding in one of your rivers? I cant see them becoming legal now?

I wish SHs were Legal up here in Ma. I think they should be legal in the northern states, as we have nice cold winters an 99% of ponds lakes an rivers Ice over for atleast a month or two.
I might be talking crazy, but if you can prove to the DOW that you have the means and the resourses to house the fish, and are willing to go through the proper channels you can get exeptions and warrants allowing you to house these fish.
Or, if you say that they are reaking havoc on your ecosystem you could just go fishing a lot until you catch one.

Joeytoe, The channa argus does very well in areas that freeze over, like Korea, and northern China. Now that the nationwide ban is in place it would take fereral laws to be changed to trade in them legally nd that is even before dealing with individual state regulations, By that time they might just evolve into a new species.
You would also most probably need a good argument as to why they should be made legal, a better argument than the one that says they should be illegal!
