I got a blood parrot a while back
I will admit it is a heart or love parrot with the back fins mutated..
I'm about positive that its not possible to cut the back end of the fish off and not have 99% of fish die
its a mutation.
either way I bought this fish from a bad environment and now he owns the tank.

he's a solid highlighter orange not a single spot pics up tomorrow
but he's spotless neon macaroni if lighting and radiation hit macaroni at the same time and it became a fish it would be my fish

and in my tank it gets treated well and is the boss of the tank in most situations..
even telling my butterfly fish to move

a mix what two fish
and my blood parrot has been the boss of my tank for months and gets more colorful all the time
as of now there are NO dark spots of impurities on him at ALL!!!

Glad you're happy with your fish, blood parrots are hybrids and there is a whole forum just for hybrids.

What's with all the radiation, macaroni talk? :screwy:

ha the coloration
I'm aware they're hybrids
mine has been seen eating feeders beef heart brine shrimp bloodworms shrimp pellets
never seen them eat brine shrimp..
but...
as I was saying mine is the best looking one around
its a bright bright orange and its solid alllll over
never seen on like it even on google image
its just solid macaroni orange with a nuclear glow

the parrot and the african butterfly fish...as the latter is delicate and prone to getting it's fins nipped.
not even sure if thier basic water chemistry requirements are roughly the same either now that I think of it, but I don't know that off hand.

I'm lost...must be the Tennesee lingo...lol
