The convicts I got just had eggs ! ! !

Any tips, first timer here. I want to grow them out for feeders, but also did it for the viewing.

Should I wait till they hatch and remove them or take them out and hatch them?

Just let 'em do their thing. Typically convicts are good parents and the fry are easy to raise.

Keep them in there huh? Ill try it, my first breeding.

I guess that it will get better every time. Thanks.

Leave it where it's at ;)

Where should the temp, in the tank be?

about 80 F, what do u plan to feed the fry?

i crushed up sinking pellets into a powder form. they go nuts for it.

Thanks death, I am going to feed them to my payara tank. The tank may have been a little cold. Ill add a heater.

And I never thought of the filter haha I will cover it with somthing. No luck so far, I still have 5 in the 20 gallon, 2 pairs of 2 and one odd ball. They are not fighting soo much anymore.

Sorry for the same questions, but when the lay eggs should I leave them in the tank, thats what I have been hearing that the mothers will protect them good????

in my setup im using an AC 20 and i don't have a prefilter on it and so far so good. my fry have reached the stage of looking like their parents, their no longer lil tad poles. their about 7 weeks old now. i started off with 9 convicts in a 15 gallon. now i have about 100 or so. their all healthy and i plan on moving the fry to my predator tank soon. im still trying to figure out how im gonna catch them all...

u should leave everything alone, that's what i did... i didnt even do a water change for 2 weeks. it was tough not too, since im so anal about maintenance

Haa I am the same way about W/C's. I added the heater and the tank warmed up a bit. WOW, I cant believe you have 9 in a 15 gallon, awesome. You left them alone and you have the 9 adults, and the 100 fry in the 20?

Thanks for the time to comment its appreciated. What do you have in the pred tank besides the rays, I looked at you personal gallery?

I cant wait till they start "getting down"
