cmon someone help!!i'm dying here..T_T

I am not an RTC expert. My guess would be that it just hasn't settled in after only two days. Also some catfish wont eat much when the lights are on. Some of mine don't move all day then as soon as the lights are off they are allover looking for food. You should do a bunch of research on the RTC and talk to the experts on the site. Then prepare to move up to a tank in the hundreds of gallons or find a new home for the fish.

thanks for helping man!!really appreciate it!!i did my research about the temp of water and ph level and whatnot before i actually bought one...im ready to provide him the large tank he needs when the time comes..i tried turning of the lights but still no activity..and why won't he hide in the jar??

As stated above, give the little guy some time. Don't really need to rush that glutton. Try some bloodworms, red worms, shrimp...etc. As for him hiding in the jar, give it month or so and that jar would be to small for him anyways.

wow you guys are really hospitable and helpful!!thanks for being patient with me guys!!now to take care of that gill curl...any tips??

Good Morning,

Baby RTC generally will only take live food. Try some small feeders. Blood worms are also one of their favorites. It does take time for a RTC to "settle" in. you will notice this everytime you change the tank/environment they are in. When they are small lthe like to hide ALOT. Build a cave or put a small piece of flat rock leaned up against the glass. They also like the little castle and aquarium decorations they can go into, similar to a rafael cat. When they get bigger they eventually will not need a hiding place. As far as the gill curl, Raise the temp to about 81-82, the warmer water will helps their immune system, I generally add a little stress coat and keep the lights off to reduse the stress on the fish. They are skittish at that size and darting around the tank could make it worse when then bump into something.

You will be able to switch a rtc to tilapia, shrimp, worms etc when they get a little bigger.

gud am to you too man!!!thanks for the tips guys..just keep 'em coming and rest assured that they will not fall on deaf ears..i tried feeding him very small feeder fish..in fact there are two swimming in his tank right now but he pays them no attention...but some of the guys said i just need to wait for him to settle in.
