PS dont use fishing night crawlers they have something in them only use the ones from the pet store.

What is in them? I fed a lot of my catfish with the ones from wal mart and nothing ever happened?.

Don't stress over it. Rarely will a catfish starve himself to death. Unless he is really sick and has problems.

Have you tried to break the piece of shrimp up in front of him? When you do that of course some juices come out and just leave it buy him and turn the lights off and walk away. Might be shy to eat in front of you right now.

How big is he right now?

My TSN never ate night crawlers for me. He always wanted the expensive meals. Go figure, they all eat better then me.

Also, my cats never passed up squid. I had got the frozen stuff from Petland, you know its flat and just a bunch a squid squished together. Petsmart might have it? I dont know. Well I got rid of my eel and still had his food left over and the catfish went nuts over it. It had a strong smell I guess when it hit the water.

Bigger cats to me-IMO,is something in the ball park of 12 inch and bigger---
I would starve them if under-If over,IMO-I dont think it would be near as easy for them to train over...Hope that makes better sense--

I also did state I am ignorant when it comes to cats....I only post what has worked for me in the past....

I also have no clue what size fish this is..
Oh, okay, I get it. Sorry.

Any luck?

Earthworms, most fish will not remove a juicy worm, but let it settle, it wont starve to death, they are opportunistic feeders, when its ready it will eat.:)

try chopping up the worm too so that he can taste the squishy insides. If that fails I have a method I use for stubborn small catfish. I take a cube of blood worms thaw it in a bottle cap. Mix with water to thin it out. Then I suck up the blood worms using an eye dropper. Place eye dropper over top of the tsn and slowly squeez the blood worms right in front of his face. Usually works every time. I've used this method on 3 different tsns, a 1" rtc, and a 3" mrtc. All the tsns were between 2" and 5" when I started this. Just don't make any quick movements and make sure the lights are out. Also catfish are more willing to accept new foods in smaller pieces so if you are dead set on shrimp right away dice it up super small. If there is too much competition in the tank he could very well starve to death because he's not able to eat for other fish eating all the food. After a few times of doing this blood worm method mentioned usually my little ones will be attacking it as soon as they see it even before I squeez anything out lol. Good luck. I use blood worms to get them off live btw. After they accept blood worms and they get fat they will learn to accept other foods easier.
