Zilch Zilch , very nice!

Cute little pearsei. They can be quite shy when young but when they start to grow you see some funny stuff. They take time to develop but they are worth the time. Looking forward to the updates.
Yeah little guy was VERY shy for the last few months, NEVER saw it, and if I did it was from down the hall and as soon as it saw me coming it would duck back into it's PVC shelter. Moved it into the big tank where there's really no place to hide last weekend, little slow to start eating, started up a little yesterday, and today it's outcompeting the slower polys and doesn't even flinch when I'm near the tank. Total 180!

I know the feeling. I went through a few different pearsei before I got my Porkchop. They are pretty tough fish but strange things can and do happen in fish keeping.
Yeah unfortunately we can't always see what's going on with a fish. Though to the old pearseis credit, it had to survive some extenuating circumstances (Like the old poly tank having a huge leak and having to clown car everyone into the 40B growout it was in D: )

This guy has been in growout for probably about 4 months... got it at a LFS at about the size of a quarter. This is my second try at growing out a pearsei, first one mysteriously went belly up when it was a little smaller than this guy :( Seems like this one is going to keep on trucking though!

Oh that was while i was m.i.a

We have a little pearsei club hhaa. Loke DMD123 DMD123 said they are allot of fun if you call wanting to punch your fish in the face fun lol seriously though out of all the fish ive kept they are definitely the most intelligent and interactive even more so than oscars

I think many people don't give them the time to develop and move on to something different. They have that cute phase ( Zilch Zilch , where yours is now). Then the awkward stage comes in where they are big, no real color to speak of, sometimes seem a disproportionate, and of course botomless feeding machines. If you can make it through that stage, the teeenage years, then you will get an awesome fish out of it. The two year spot is pretty good but at about the three year mark they have come into their own.
