Pre-soak his food in 3% epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) that's 1/4 teaspoon per 2 ounces of food. I would also treat the water of the tank with about 1 cup of epsom salts to every 150 gallons of water.
I agree with what has already been said about those big water changes too -- do it to protect your other fish, as well as to help him recover! The protozoa that causes HITH lives in the gut in all fish, and flourishes when they are stressed out. It gets transmitted by fish picking at the tank substrate that is contaminated with the feces of other ill fish, so make sure to clean your substrate too. The epsom salts in your water will also help reduce their numbers, but it is no substitute for water changes and the substrate cleaning! It will take time, so be patient -- 3 weeks to a month of steady improvement. Please let us know immediately if that broko's condition worsens!
The broko didn't come from hayn bit all the others did a few years back. They are still in the loop Pete. But this time they are here to stay
Very bad news today guys the broko passed last night. I think the lack of time and being rushed into moving him before he was 100% got to him. I tried everything I could in the short period of time I had :/
