Im back! Sorta...

It has been a while since my last "monster" tank.

Picked up this 55 and kit for a steal boxing day sale.

First time building a stand from scrap. I dont think I did to bad.... We will see if it holds!

I yoinked a common design so it should be ok.

Now, I was thinking back to my roots, a JD and 2 fire mouths! Is there some new special fish I have missed in the last 8 years?

I always used aquaclears in the past... They are still popular I see...

After looking around the Seachem Tidal series seems to be the new kind for quiet operations... Any thoughts?

May be overstocked. Try a breeding pair of JD's. In my 55, I have a Delhezi Bichir and 5 Congo Tetras

I honestly am getting annoyed that im limited in my fish choice because of size. Sadly my job will have me move a fair amount so I dont want to invest into a big tank again.

I have the top fin HOB that comes with it (assuming it comes with a 55 it should be good enough for it) and a tidal 75 on it...

The topfin filter is TRASH though, SO LOUD. The impeller is such a racket.

I will likely be buying a canister in a few months anyways though because the surface/circulation on the side of the tank that does not have a filter is so low.
That is also another reason I got a second HOB.

I was thinking if the tidal is good enough I might just stick a small power head on the other side or something. We will see!

Updated pic with second filter... Likely will get rid of the topfin... Its so loud! The tidal75 should be enough.

Totally understand. But, you can enjoy a 55 for now, not so bad! My time away, a lot of it was filled with work travel. Now, my office daily is in my house...with my 55. The other side of the wall will be a 300ish soon. I am taking my time, which for me means I didn't think of it and buy
