Awesome! Yeah! Mine went "buggers" and thrashed his tankmates at the time.. Rehomed a bunch of our fish and took a "break" for a few months to focus on the kids ect. before deciding to get cichlids when the oldest "had" to have them. Happened to have a 40b set up with a tadpole at the time... Lol..and hubby was happy with the pricetag lmao. Been years since i've kept cichlds but as per MFK motto...go big or go home! Lol. Looking at getting an "amazon cat" for the tanks but not sure if. I'm going to try and go for a biome or toss some bichir in and just have it a "fun" tank the kids can interact with. Im allowed to fill what we got and keep anything that wont outgrow 180/220 and buttis are pretty hit or miss around here so picked him up and figured time would tell.

Personally ive never had a butti (kept 4-5 up to 10 inch) that was as aggressive as people say, no worse than an average bully species... most of the horror story's imo are due to peole not stocking their tanks with equally aggressive species. And trying multiple large species in small tanks.. anything over a 180 drastically reduces aggression. There will still be fights but nothing serious ime.
