Welcome back, Jaws. I've been away from MFK a bit recently as well. I don't know squat about polys, but your tanks look good! What's the temperament, max size, etc of that pearsi like? That's a nice looking fish!

Hey bro !!! Yeah life was crazy we moved along with a bunch of other crap but things are calming down man. Pearsei is probably my favirote cichlid that i have kept man its a great fish same personality of an oscar. Wife taught him to hand feed. Weird fish to categorize as far as aggression definitely not a killer but was a total jerk hes calmed down allot since he put on some size. He would he be too aggressive or not aggressive enough. Only issue i had with him and a non cichlid was with an L600 over food. I had a few small zonatus like 3 inches and he at the time he was probably pushing 10 or 11 and they beat the crap out of him lol. They have huge appetites man. Doesnt bother the polys at all.

So all of the endless questions regarding sumps and plumbing should start up again. Yesterday i ordered the tank that i been asking you guys about for the past year

Excited to see ya get going on the new tank! Will be fun to see ya put it together! A great thing about this forum is living vicariously through others while you are recouping your funds from your own projects lol.

Any changes to your set up ? Still have those awesome loaches ?

Im still obsessing flow rates... lmaooo have a thread going now lol

No major changes to the filtration. Still have the loaches. Changed out my African tiger scats with a couple Uaru couple months ago. Uaru have always been on my bucket list. Lfs had them for a couple months. Finally couldn't resist lol.

Had to add that sex may have some bearing on temperament. I have a 14" female and she is a lot nicer than J jaws7777 description of his male. You can start to see the nuchal hump starting on his male. Best way to describe a Pearsei personality is that it is like an ocsar in many respects but calmer.

Yea you're probably right about the sex thing, because my male was a knuckle head too. He's calmed down alot now but he was a complete weirdo. Destructive and boisterous sometimes and then scared of everything others. He's never bothered my bottom feeders but would try to let most of the others know who's boss.
