I'm becoming addicted to water changes?

I can't afford lots of WC's on my 75 gallon SW, so I just do a 15% every week...

My FW... It's pretty much free so I do a 50% every 3-4 days...

I just got a manifold off my return pump to empty my tank and my garden hose is long enough to reach my sump. Took months to get around to making it that way but man does it save time. W/c with 5 gal buckets in a 240g cichlid tank gets exhausting.
 
Yeah I have 2 but it still sucks. Def need to invest in a python

You guys are hardcore water changers. I won't even disclose how often I change the water, but rest assured, it's not 50% every 2-3 days.. thats INSANE!

WHY do you change that often? Do you not have adequate filtration? Are your levels bad? Is your tank visibly dirty? Just seems crazy to me..

Edit:

And some of you guys have like no substrate, i.e. bare glass bottom tanks. How are you maintaining your BB by changing 50% every two days? Do you have healthy sumps or not clean filters very often?
 
Haha I agree with you havoc. I think I'd shoot myself if I was changing 50% of my water every 2-3 days. I think it's insane. To each there own though.

I wouldn't say i am addicted but everytime after i water change i am happy because i know my tank will look better in less the 1 hour :-) i do 1 50% water change on both my tanks 1 time a week. Takes about an hour and a half to do 2 135 gallon tanks with a 10 gallon bucket.

I do a water change every day if I can... on 8 tanks... at least every tank gets one a week.. if its a easy day i'll do more then one tank. and some days I skip a day and do 2 the next day! :eek: You're among tother water change addicts... and I use to be in the once every 2 weeks 20% crowd... then I tried it...
 
I do like 20% change every week? sometimes every 2 weeks depending on my quality and how healthy my fish look. its a 225 so the large size helps maintain the quality longer than a small tank. My fish are fine and growing quickly I really can't be bothered to do a change every 2 days thats just not even worth it for the water bill alone.
