That's scary man. I'm about to move mine next month. I'd be crushed if something happened. Sorry for your loss

i think i've gotten to the point where i cant move my tank to a new place without serious risk to my stock ( and this thread has convinced me so). just too many and too large. if i do ever move them it would have to be into a new established tank at the new location.

That sucks. I understand how you feel.

I had all 10 or so of my big ropefish die within 3 days of some apparent disease a few years ago. Just one after the other got weird discolored spots, started swimming weird and died. They were with other fish who remained absolutely fine, including my marble cat who I still have, so obviously it was something that only effected that species or family of fish. Never did figure out exactly what it was.
Now I'm scared to get more lest it happen again.

Did you forget to add dechlor? Or maybe the power went off overnight and they didn't have enough oxygen? The only time I woke up to dead fish like that was when the power got turned off to one of my SW tanks and everyone but my moray and grouper was dead.

sorryto hear that man

Damn i am sorry to hear. I know it sucks really bad. How big was your WC and do you have a UV?

The fish were moved to a new tank. Its on well water so there is no cholorine. But i have come to the conclusion that i need to age my water. My small juvie cichla arent affected after a wc like my big boys. Im guessin because they are so used to the old water at the old house. I have been aging my water a few days w/ an airstone before my wc's now. ITs seem to have helped a bit.
