Got the stand built today. My phone is having trouble uploading to Picasa so the images of will be coming when they get there
Also, fill test number one is over with a leak. The bottom edge of the window didn't seat as well in the corners. Climbed in and patched things up a bit today. Will test again Tuesday and move to the stand Thursday. Toes crossed for a successful fill.
All 2x6 construction except for the bottom 2x4. The dog crates are going on the left which is why there's a larger gap. On the right I'll add shelves at some point. Most likely going to finish boarding the ends for even more stability. I'm not out of screws yet
Good thing I don't have any fans. Nobody bugging me to finish it though I'm going as quickly as I can. Turns out I'm getting leaks on my seams. Barely two coats of Sweetwater really isn't adequate so I'm going to sand a little and top with BlueMax. I didn't realize Ames Research is only an hour away!! Got my 5 gallon bucket today and will start coating over the next 5 days to get all my coats down and done right.
sorry to hear the sweetwater didn't work out for you. i had similar problems with my build i didn't brace the out side and the flex kept on cracking out the bottom seam, i ended up covering all my nice epoxy in liquid rubber. hope the bluemax works out for you
At least the epoxy will act as another level of stiffening for the build. And if the blue max springs any kind of leak, the epoxy will also act as somewhat of a backup. Can't wait for more pics!

The first two coats of Blue Max are down. Interestingly the first coat dried fairly clear in most areas. The second coat is beginning to do the same. At least this way when I'm done I'll know everything has been sealed. The only difficult thing is finding a way to be inside the tank to do the edges before breaking out the roller to do the sides and bottom.
The only question I have about your build(very cool and inspiring!) is why the fiberglass is leaking at the seams? Can't you seal it up with silicone(it would be a bunch...) like in any of the all glass builds? Or is the amount of water the problem...Silicone wouldn't be enough to hold against the pressures?
