I scooped up two dead bichirs this month and pissed. I'm quitting the hobby. Look for my Out of Hobby Sale soon.

man that sucks, sorry for the loss. i lost a colony of fronts awhile back, best to figure what happened and try again, it makes it more challenging and fun. gl

Well you know who you put them in wit...

Oh man that's terrible. So sorry for your losses. What happened?

sorry to hear about your losses. Don't ditch the hobby yet though. just take a break if you need to, but you will regret it when you go out down the line and need to buy everything again to get back into it

Just store the tanks for a while. I wouldn't get rid of everything.. i have done it before and instantly regretted it

I did a water change and forgot to plug back the canister filter. 7 hrs later I noticed the fish stressed and shedding slime coat so I dump Parasite and Fungus med to treat the 75g. By the next evenning, the tank water was murkier than the Amazon River. I openned the cabinet door and realized the canister was unplug for well over 24hrs and the only thing powering the tank the whole time was a powerjet. I did a water change hoping the bichir would recover but they checked out tonight.

As of right now, I'm thinking of getting out. The hobby is too expensive and too time consuming.

I don't think that was it.

Hey dude, I'm sorry for your losses, those looked like some fine specimens; but I agree, take a break. Let yourself steam off and then you'll realize that fishkeeping is like a drug. It's implanted in your brain and when you devoid yourself of your daily dose, you start to feel mentally ill because your body is not getting the supplement it needs (a.k.a withdrawal), except fishkeeping is the good type of drug. Hey, I'm supplementing my body with fishkeeping with a homedepot bucket in my room with a cory, a ghost shrimp, and a betta (barely working, but still fulfills my need for fishkeeping)
