Santa was good to me. I am beyond excited, I officially have enough for a cockatoo. Im going to set the cage up and start looking for a cockatoo. I can't believe this dream is coming true. I am so so so excited. I may rescue or get a baby, not sure yet, depends on what is in my area. I would like to rescue. My neighbor Eddie can hear Chiquita she sure will hear a cockatoo. But that's okay she doesn't care and is excited to meet him/her.

Ya, Im super excited. Hopefully i will have one this week. Oh I do know they can bite. I've done tons of research and they are like children. But my two birdies have prepared me for this. Chiquita is a little bird in a big body.

They are incredibly jealous. My buddy had a beautiful cockatoo. She was a real swetheart. When his son was born and they could not give the bird the same level of attention, she ripped her chest feathers out and would frequently make herself bleed. Fortunately, he is a great pet owner and sent her to a bird sanctuary with the huge cage and all of the supplies. He sends money monthly for her care.

huh i remember the time when i would have moved moutain for a sulfur crested , the pressure got even more intense when i started dated someone from down under ,,,i really never did get around owning one ,in a way its for the best ...
Enjoy the time when the passion and the desire keep you in awe .

they're noisy buggers, especially when they flock outside your place eating your macadamia nuts lol. literally 50+ cockatoos. will get pics next time it happens.

i can only begin imagine the noise a captive cockatoo would make when all his mates are outside talking.

Post pictures when you get him/her.

My house is on the migration path of a huge flock of green parrots (not sure what species, they're too far to get a good ID on them), and even though they're always about half a block away, on a big tree, they sound as if they're right next to you. I feel bad for whoever lives on the property that tree is on.

yup haha, in some areas right on the sunset rainbow lorikeets will congregate in MASSES by the hundreds on a particular tree and just squark and squark... cute birds though.
