I'm getting a Senegal - I have some questions :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive never had a poly try and jump but I definately wouldnt risk it if the fish cost $400!

Yeh :)

I think she is worth it - one of the better looking senegals I've seen. Plus, they are hard to come by and in much demand.

One of the biggest breeders of bichirs in Perth recently had a heart attack so I don't think he has the time/energy to attend to his fish to the degree that is required. Hopefully he gets rested and better soon for his sake as well as for bichir keepers in Perth. Plus he is a nice guy :)

Okay so, your filters are fine no upgrading needed.

Having a pump/ power head isnt bad id just turn it down and keep it away from the bottom ive noticed my senegal is more active with less flow.

Best substrate is sand. Its safer for the bichir and easy to clean and it looks good.

One male and a female will fit and get along in the tank. You could probably do more if wanted. No the polys will not breed readily.

Mine love drift wood, live plants and rock formations.

If you have any other questions just ask :)
