Honestly, I fond them over-rated and over-hyped. (Like Pirahnas...)

I'm really diggin' the SA Leaf fish though. They remind me of odd colored dats. I think a Planted tank with them, and a big breeding shoal of tetras to provide a constant flow of feeders would be cool. What does well with them?

Any other suggestions? :)

the only problem with the leafs tends to be the live feeders since they are hard to wean off from them, otherwise they are pretty damn neat, and uncommon. IME I was never able to accomplish getting them to eat anything other than live fish, but I don't know if that is typical.

sry, thought it wasa 36"-16"-24"
An extra 6 inches of length will still not allow you to fit those fish in.

If it were me, I'd plant it and have a shoal of colourful tetras with some small L-no's and cory's.

If you wanted to do the african theme with bichirs, I'd go two senegalus max.. more ideal to have one. You could fill the upper strata with other fish.

i'd get either a congo puffer,a school of tetras,or a few SA leaffish.
SA leaffish are sensitive to water conditions.
they NEED acidic water.
only eat live.
and eat alot.
so a school of breeding fish in there probably wont work because theyll get devoured so quickly.
seriously.
ive had one that would finish a bag of 50 guppies in 1 or 2 days.

That was the plan for the guppies. To get eaten. LOL
Like, leave them in there for a month or two, then add the leafs.

Dunno though. Still trying to figure out what to put in here. Want something predatory, but not a whole lots gonna fit in here.

I like dwarf cichlids, just dont know what species, I've really only kept blue rams. What about dwarf pikes?

with dwarf cichlids, get an assortment of the rams, blue gold and bolivian, also you can do about any type of apistogramma, and possible kribensis too!

My LFS has Blue Rams, and Golds aswell.
I'm going to look more into different species of apisto's.

Could anyone provide some info towards dwarf crenicichla?

Only a 35, not a 135?!?!?lol....Fill the feeder tank with plants...Invest in a $100 light system....

Haha.
I've been trying to buy a 100 gall or larger for months. Im getting tired of waiting around!

So... I found some cichlids I like... Well, more than some... Heres a few though that I know nothing about and would like some info on if possible...
Herichthys Deppi
Herichthys Carpintis 'Escondido'
Krobia sp. 'Xingu orange'
Archocentrus panamensis
Herichthys pantostictus
Herichthys Pearsi
Cryptoheros Sajica
Archocentrus spinssisimus
Crenicichla sedentaria
Gymnophagus balzani
and...
Hoplarchus Psittacus

Would any of these work in a 35?
