my p has slowed down on the eating, only taking one or two feeders at a time, and he is very picky on what size they are. just about a week ago he would eat no matter what size and eat four or five at a time. somedays he will refuse food. lol, there are like 5 rosey's in there now that he will not touch. is this normal. my tank parameters are normal and the temp is at 85.

no i never had this problem.. do you leave lights on all night or something.. start feeding him more.. i hope its not a internal parasite.. if you notice him slowing up eatting even more, be concerned. this was all of a sudden?

my lights get turned off at 9pm and turned back on at 8 am. a few nights that i have been off work i have left them on till like 12 by mistake. i noticed he is not active at all, except the few times he does eat. he sits in the same place or right below the surface and gasp all the time. i first that my water was bad and tested it but all was fine. just got done doing a water change and still no improvement. and this was all of a sudden, i feed him one night before work, and the next morning when i tried o feed him again, he didnt even take it, he refused food for about two days before he took anything. i offer food twice a day, only small rosie's, i think im gonna go get some guppies for him and see if he will take them.

parseite is my only answer good luck :(

if i is a parasite is there anything i can do for the lil guy. or is this gonna be one of those hope for the best things.

do you raise your own feeders because those rosie's and guppys are filled with parasites at the LFS 99% of the time, if your guy had eaten fish with parasite he also has the parasite.. when ever you buy feeders ..always quarenteen to make sure they are healthy because the risk is too great..you should keep the feeders around at least a couple of weeks before giving it to your fish.. i once bought mollys {feeders} just to save them and they all died with in a week from parasites so you can amagine how many other fish ate these.. and died too,:( if it is parasite your going to need to start medicine ..a little aquarium salt etc.. is he still eating ?

i have all of my feeders in a separate tank. i keep them around for about two weeks before i feed them to the p bass. he eats once in a while.about three days ago he was eating great, but the next day he didnt eat, and he didnt eat this morning when i got home form work, and i tried again when i woke up a lil bit ago and he didnt take it. i will add some aquarium salt tonight and raise the temp a lil bit.

How big is the bass? and have you tried goldfish ? mine at 6" didnt want rosies anymore so i gave him some med goldfish and he eats them well

he is about 4 inches, but he will not eat larger rosies at all.
