congrats on the tank, stand and canopy! they look really nice. i hope to join the club before fall semester starts.

btw. remember those 40g tanks you sold me through sean? well, i cleaned them up, resealed them with black silicone, painted the back, bottom and trim, and covered the bulk head holes with glass. they look pretty decent now. i put both on a gorilla rack. those tanks were a steal! thanks again even though it was forever ago.

Thanks man! I'm glad you put more use to them then i did.. lol

if the tank will crack it will crack during the drilling. im not worried about after the hole is drilled. Plus i plan on just drilling a hole for 1 2" bulkhead on the side of the tank not the bottom as i read most bottoms are tempered. Wish me luck wanna help.

I'll shatter your tank if I touch it! That's the reason why I stay away from glass tank! :D

congrats on the pickup and the stand looks good.

Are you a stand builder? :D You, Sean, and Joe have been exchanging wood skill the past few months, haven't you? Don't drill the tank :grinno: It sucks to come down stair in the morning, and find out Katrina hits your house!:ROFL::ROFL:
He's being modest. Beside dragon hunting with House_64, he has good wood skills.:D I'll show you a pic in PM since I don't want to derail this thread.

Ky, talk to Jebo Chris. His dad has experience drilling glass tanks.

They may be good with wood, but you're good a sanding, especially sanding without removing old paint!:ROFL::ROFL:

heres a little update.. been up and running for 2-3 days now. I took all the biomax from the used FX5 and put it on the new one. Used about 30% of established water.

Sweet lights that I picked up from John, thanks again J! :headbang2 and thank you Sean for my other heater!
