The gray version for me is easier to navigate on as the font color to background color is easier on the eyes.

Just think, we gave up the old layout for all the new options people called for. Tapatalk, etc.

Actually, Tapatalk would have worked with the old software. As I understand, this upgrade had been in the works for a very long time, even before the talks of Taptalk. However, adding Tapatalk was postponed until all 3 sites had finished the upgrade. I use Tapatalk for a few other forums that still run the older software.
