ive been taking care of my cousins oscar and when i left the room for an hour i came back to find the oscar beat up my bowfin bad and i dont think hes gonna make it. my bowfin is by far my favorite fish. the oscar is like 7", bowfin is 6".
so all i could do was use an old under gravel filter to devide the tank. i told my cousin he had to come get the oscar and his reply is "throw the oscar in a bucket i dont care if oscar dies".
im so mad. first my silver aro, then my shortnose gar now probably my bowfin. $130 worth of fish in 2 weeks.
i can never have anything nice.

?.......You've already seen that the oscar is something of a bully so why risk a hard to come by bowfin with it? Do what your cousin said,put it in a bucket and head for the nearest LFS and see if you can get some credit for it.That way you could recoup some of the money you are out of.....The bowfin might pull through if it is left alone and given time to heal up.Keep it's water clean in the meantime.

i have when he killed my aro. but he never showed any aggresion to my bowfin or any other fish really and they have only been together a week. everything was fine up until a few hours ago. and my lfs wont take him.

Then it has to come out....Put it in a bucket and your cousin can bring you whatever tank that it was kept in untill you can find a taker for it.
