I'm moving, how do I do it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fobia is right. Transfer the fish in their water and save as much as is feasible for you. As with most moves, expect a few casulties. If you can, keep some of the more fragile fish in the bucket/tub for an extra day or two with air and heat if necessary. 28 fish is alot to move, so be most careful with the hardest to replace. Hope this helps

get a truck. and get a grip of garbage bags. quadrouple bag a grip of water. throw the fish in a cooler. bring as much water as u can in the bags. set up the tank with the quickness and u know the rest.

Use some of your old cycled aquarium water mixed with some slightly new water in a big cooler half filled with a aerator, floating water temp gauge, i think they'd be fine only 20 miles out too your destination.

I think the main thing would be to preserve the media in the filteration so you don t lose the B B.

Yeah I was going to say this.

I'd definately keep the biomedia submerged in old tank water during the move (if possible with a powerhead/etc to move the water...if I remember reading right, BB will start dying in water with no flow? I'm not sure how long that would take though).

Acclimate them properly and you can use 100% new dechlorinated water. Just save your filter media and keep it oxygenated.
