I would go with the AC adapter, air pump, and sponge filters. get some seachem stability or equivalent to seed your sponges daily for a week before the move.
I wouldn't bother with a water change, the time spent doing it will negate the limited amount of improvement from so small of a change, plus with the sponge filters the water quality should be fine. If you can haul enough water along to really make a difference, just put the fish in bigger containers.
as long as your media remains moist, I wouldn't expect a big die off of bacteria in four hours, especially if you drain out the tank water and put in fresh water. without any ammonia/nitrites/nitrates to feed on, their O2 requirements will be quite a bit lower. You can always continue to use the sponge filters in the tank for a bit if you're worried.
skipping a few days of feeding first is good too.
