i just purchased a 300 gallon tank and i need to get a sump set up for it. i know basically nothing about them but i think that i want to use a 55 gallon wet/dry sump. i have no idea either were to get one or how to possibly make one. i also have no idea how to plum it. it has three outlets in the tank. it was a running tank at one point so i know that the pluming in and out of the tank is good. i dont know how big of a pump i need to pump it back and is there a way to put a float valve of simalar in it to keep it from overflowing in case ov an overflow. i think that is the scariest thing to me is the overflowing. please help me i am new to this part of fish keeping. i have really only used exclusively canister filters. btw i really like pictures!

Sump is the best choice for a set up that big.

Sumps take a little more time nd work to install and get started but are well worth of it.

Good question.

Maybe you gonna need at least a 85 gal sump to manage all that water although i may be wrong, lets see what the sump experts say about it.
