Ive used baby pacu once, but before you know it you have big pacu. They are really active, kinda stupid, and can really take a punch.

Are your GTs skittish, nervous, or shy? These are generally reasons for getting "dither fish". If this is the case though with larger cichlids, the dithers need be fairly large. Balas would probably work but would need to be in the 6" range. Tin foil barbs(5-6") would work too, although in your 55g you are pretty much maxed on stocking.

With your breeding Jags, a more proper term may be target fish. If you go with large schools the Jags won't be able to focus on one fish and this will make the survival rate of the "targets" much higher. You may want to try 10-12 tinfoil barbs with your Jags, although eventually your gonna be maxing out that 125 with the pair of jags.

You will just have to experiment, and don't get upset if you lose some fish.

sry i didnt mak that clear. i meant silver d bala and gourami combination in the 55g. pleez tell me quickly cuz im about to go some where. the gt and jag are of course not going in to the 55g, they hv plans already to go into big tanks (seperate). the big gt is in there tempararily till i clear my convict tank for him and his girlfriend.

NICE! Got any pics of the GT's?

i tried getting a pic but my computer is acting stupid, i wil get it tommorow. thanks a lot everyone and good night.

I've had good luck with Buenos Aires Tetras (I think dovii88 is refering to the same fish). They are bite-sized, but EXTREMELY quick. Your GT WILL eat them, but only like one or two a week :-)

Don't even bother with dithers with your jags. Jags can run down ANYTHING and never cease to amaze me with what they can fit in thier mouth.

Just sharing what's worked for me. Best of Luck.
