attach some java ferns to the rocks and drift wood , you cichlids won't be able to knock them around or remove them from the substrate.

I'd take them heaters, attach horizontally a couple of inches off of the bottom so they are more out of sight.
 
nice looking tank, I can't wait to get something at least that size. I bet it was fun trying to think about how to set it up and what to put it. Good luck, hope the fish are happy in their new home. Keep us updated once you put some fish in there!
 
in my 100gallon there isnt any caves really just things for them to hind behind....to me lots of caves built up out of rocks look kinda noobyish

I am looking to ad some Cat fish to my New 125 Gallon, I will be keeping American cichlids so I need those cat fish that will most likly get along with them.

I'm looking for a Breeder in Brooklyn/Manhatan or any shop that may carry them.
No bull head or shovelnose cats please.

If you know where i can locate any of these I would apriciate it.
Pimeloid cats
Pictus or Angellicus cat,
4 line Pim cat or one line/blue line Pim cat.
marble sailfin, painted sailfin, and perruno cat.
Giraffe nose cats
Synodontis, S. decorus, angellicus, brichardi, flavitaeniatus. S. eupterus
