yup! use Krylon Fusion spray paint. mine are painted black, as you can see in the video

for what it costs to make, you cant go wrong. $3-4 at most

oh and i highly highly recommend using one of these! it's a PVC expansion joint coupler. you can raise or lower the height of the durso pipe with this. the durso needs to be at the correct height in order to work properly. with this, you can fine tune the level of the pipe by lifting or lowering it, no need for exact measurements. this will also allow you to adjust the water level in your tank, or overflow box if you build one.

they go for $6-10, depending on pipe diameter.

my main concern is since i am not doin a box and the hol eis under the center brace will i be able to keep my water level at the right hieght? and also idk ho win the hell im goin to get this thing in
this guy who put the drain there was a RE...TARD...
it really bugs me
i guess i kind have to get one of those things

yeah the water level should be fine. it doesnt sit much higher than your actual water level
