im SO unhappy with my 125

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It sucks even more when you have had bigger and had to downsize. Went from biggest tank at 600g to biggest is 150g. When people comment on how big my 150g is I just shake my head.:(

hey if your upset with your 125 i'll take it

I get the feeling your kinda burning out on freshwater. I suggest you try the salt or brackish.

hmmm

perhaps I should say not freshwater in general but freshwater fish that will fit in your 125. As a freshwater keeper I get the vibe you like big fish but there out of the question for that tank.
I don't believe you would want to dedicate such a large tank to smaller fish and/or plants.

that leaves medium fish in freshwater. You were pretty general with the cichlids you wanted, I think you've been around enough to know if there was a cichlid you absolutely wanted. Bottom line with them I don't believe they would provide the thrill your looking for with the tank.

The piranha, well i don't know if you really like these or not. I don't find them that interesting other then at feeding time, they remind me of really big tetra with teeth.

You were most specific with saltwater and brackish. Im assuming you've never done a large salt or brackish tank, so it would be pretty exciting if you plan it right.

Hey, if your nto happy with a 125 ill trade you for my 75 atleast ull have a bigger "small tank" instead of a smaller "big tank"

naaa to much BS in that field, I actually took one psych class in college and dropped it. Besides to be a good shrink, I think I'm supposed guide you to make your own conclusion, not tell you my evaluation. lol

i would do a reef tank or a fowlr pred tank

no matter what i do, it sucks. lol. i have a big channel cat i scooped up which is there temporarily until i get his stock pond or whatever home depot has. i already got a pond filter.

now 125g's suck because they are the smallest of the big tanks...big enough to keep your average oscars more then happy, but not big enough to keep you happy.

1 size to small for florida gars, silver aro, hystrix ray...anything...

im either thinking of keeping my 2 female flowerhorns (who get along great) with a bunch of mbunas and rocks

or keeping my flowerhorns with a bunch of SA/CA cichlids of all sizes

or doing a school of about 10 piranha (redbelly)

or going salt and getting a dogface puffer and whatever else.

or going brackish with monos, archers, scats, figure 8's/green spotted puffers and mollies and a moray eel

ugh

too small for 10 RBP's.

6 is recommended for a 125...
