Does anyone speed on the way home from the LFS? I for one live about an hour away from most of them and drive over the speed limit for my fish.

Also, did anyone get pulled over for speeding with fish and told the officer you had fish and they let you go? Always wondered that.

I speed but not to the point of getting pulled over, meaning not greater then 20 over. as soon as you do 30 over atleast in my area then you are screwed due to a lot of street racing accidents in my area recently.

an hour is about the same distance i go and i don't speed (got to many speeding tickets, last one was 103 in a 55, before i got fish) my question is why do u speed are u excited to get your new fish home or are u afraid they won't make the drive if u don't speed

I speed because they barley put any water in the bag, at big al's. so I speed to lessen the stress...

my lfs is only like 20 min's away so i am good i mean probably 10 over but thats just the way my mom drives lol

why dont you just get yerself a big tupperware container that has a sealing lid... or a rubbermaid container and some tape...

$20 and 10 minutes of prep... sounds like a better idea than tickets and the whatnot...

ask them for a bigger bag with more water i have done that before they should do that for ya and if they dont' the rubbermade things is allways a good idea (great for big fish or ones with teeth) when i got my reds i had them put them in 5 gal buckets with lid

i never did that
just day before yeserday i got 2 little female jewel chiclids, i bought them at 4 in the evening and afterwards had work to do and got home at 9 in the night and they were pretty cool though i know they might have got stressed but after putting them in my tank it took just 2 hrs before one of them colored up into the lovely red

Regardless of where I buy my fish, I always tell them I have a long drive and ask for bigger bags, more water, and pure O2.
On of the last times, I bought 8 lil guys (like 1"), and they were fine for 1 3/4 hour drive home. Even stopped for a bite to eat. They all made it no problems
