Title says everything. I was holding a silverside in the water, trying to feed my silver aro. He wasn't interested for a couple of minutes, so I dropped it, so the senegal could eat it. Being the fat bastard he is, he gobbled it up without hesitation. While the senegal was chewing down the silverside, I grabbed another one and held it by it's tail in the water, hoping the aro would take a bite.

I took my eyes off the aro for a second, to watch the senegal thrash around with the silverside, and SMACK!!! Scared the crap out of me, the aro took the silverside from my fingers. I've still got goosebumps as I type this. It wouldn't have scared me if I saw it coming, because that's what I was hoping for. Oh well, next time. :)

I'm sure it was. Glad the wife isn't home from work yet, I'd never hear the end of it.

would've been POTM material for sure.

lol...my gar does it to me every now and then. scares me every time! i wish you would have had one of those cameras that mount to a helmet and point towards the user. im sure the expresion would have been lovely!

Startled you I'm sure. My silver aro is so greedy, he has a habit of jumping up enough to grab food out of my hand before I can drop it in! Sucker bites me all the time. Doesn't hurt though,...........yet! :D

He's only 4 1/2", I'd say. Definitely awesome, wasn't expecting that, seeing as though I've only had him for a week.

Wait until it gets bigger that's when it gets scary........I really get afraid when my 9.5" midas comes out of the water to eat.......

I'm scared when my 8" Oscar is eyeing me from across the room. He follows me over to the side of the tank where I keep the food, and acts like a Koi. Puts his lips above the water, and sometimes "jumps" out to his gills.
