I'm taking the long way home today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey all you manly men, this goes both ways with fish. husbands too ;-)
It's better if they're at least interested.
anyhow, normal reaction to their favorite fish getting killed, especially when the spouse discovers it themselves. Dovi with tankmates is just counting down to kills, & my husband would've had a fit too.
it doesn't take a genius to know this.

Just my opinion here,

But why does she get to say what you do with fish that are yours?
Did she research, choose, purchase, aclimate, and care for this fish?
Or did she just decide she liked it after YOU did all the above mentioned things? If you did the research, purchase, etc. (you know the stuff) then why does she get to dictate the life of the dovii?

Face palm on all of your wives. Spouses should have no say on the other spouses fish tank just because "its their favorite"

And it does go both ways. For example we have a 120 gallon that has yet to be stocked because a certain someone doesnt want to go through the trouble of aquascaping it and wants me to do everything. I already took out all the substrate added the water and plugged everything in, if i do the aquascaping, then it turns into him wanting me to do water changes too, but i would have no say in the stock or stock decisions and its "his" tank? Heck no! If i set up and maintain the tank its MY tank and you have no say. And im not gonna get rid of a fish because its your favorite. If its in the tank i got, i bought and maintained its my fish.

My 3 cents.
Moral of the story is send me the dovii :)

Bravo  well said woofy

I had this problem when I first started keeping fish but after a while my wife has come to understand it more cause I would teach her about fish as I learn things myself. One I can say that she was really upset about was her Oscar that died recently but it was completely not my fault.
