LFSs usually carry Florida gar rather than gator gar, are you sure it is a gator gar?

I wouldn't bother getting it if it is an alligator gar; it will certainly shred everything else in the aquarium.

Do not put a 5 inch gator gar in a 90 gallon. That is the first mistake that people make. They have unique spinal structure and jouvaniles tend to be skittish. A 90 gallon is more than enough room for one to pick up enough speed to break its back. I wouldn't go any more than 20 gallons for a 5 inch.

Yup that's all they carry here, if I could get a short nose or long nose gar I wouldn't be so worried im going to pass on it thow

it will shred small things but if it wont fit into the gars mouth it should be fine

I've had a 13" gator gar devour a 9" Florida gar.. Yeah try and picture that. It happened.
