I applaud you for taking in that poor oscar. There should be more people out there like yourself. Good luck with it. As for the praying for the fish thing, I dont think it is corny. I love my fish, I talk to them, and if they were ill or hurt, I probably would say a lil prayer for them.

Well last night he wouldn't eat (wouldn't expect him to anyways, since he was pretty stressed from 2 big moves), but today he ate a junkload of cichlid pellets, crickets, and mealworms

its great you rescued him, no doubt in my mind he would have died in that petstore, not many people want a hurt fish. But im sure he will look great in no time. I know someone with two oscars and they always are together and they swim together all the time. IDK must be some sort of oscar behavior lol. GOOD LUCK with him
