Oh boy... Jeez this guy was a survivor lol so i had a kenyi african cichlid that killed everyone else, he survived the walmart tank with cichlids that were 3 times bigger then him, then one day I put him in this tiny critter carrier for the moment when I was adding my new fish to the tank (I was planning on taking him to the LFS within the hour) Something distracted me and I left him out there in 60* weather, and I forgot about him for over a week. When I went into the garage to grap something I saw him swimming around and a little pale. Poor guy! I put him in a breeder box in my tank for a week before I rehomed him and now hes happily swimming around in a friends tank :)

I had a dwarf gourami live with my red ear slider turtle for 3 years..i put him with the turtle because it bullied all the fishes in the tank.....i decided to give the turtle to a zoo when it became too big but the fish lived on....haha

i had a dragon goby that was shanked by a pictus catfish and swam around for like 2 weeks with a big ole hole in his side.
also had a jack dempsey that decided to mouth fight with a pacu. she ended up completly taring his lip off on the one side and collapsing a nostril. she is finnally healing

I used to keep cory cats in all my tanks, for cleanup duty, but I moved away from it over the years . . . I now have only one left, which is 6 or 7 years old . . . he has caught popeye three times, and recovered each time . . . he has been moved to three different tanks over the years . . . he just keeps on living, when all of the other corys I bought at the same time are long gone

follow-up: about a week after posting this, he died . . . damn

When I was a kid my dad maintained a feeder tank. One day a long-finned albino danio came in with the goldfish load. He was in there for two years which doesn't seem long until you realize that it was a 20 long with a carpload of goldfish, probably very little or no filtration and 0 water changes. We also frequently tried to catch him, but he was too fast. And we didn't feed that tank if I remember correctly. So he must have been living on what came out of new goldfish we added. Yuck. This thread reeks of more fish abuse than my childhood.
