Has anyone ever tried putting these incredible loachs outdoors in a pond? I've been told that as long as the water doesn't freeze they will be fine. I know for sure weather loach has been put in outdoor ponds and I myself have tried.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

no one? I will be the first to venture into this with 25+ cm Elongata's to try out... Will post pics and update as I go.

From what I understand, they can handle temps in the 60's so as long as it doesn't get colder than that, you should be fine

This is slowly acclimated to our temp around 5-8C royal tibets

So you imported these and you don't know nothing about them and are asking here for help? Why didn't you ask the supplier their water requirements first before importing them? Nothing rare or incredible about tibet loaches and the only reason you don't see them in the hobby is they don't survive in the home aquarium. They are a cold water fish and require chillers which makes them unsuitable to just about everyone in the hobby. Maybe some people like looking at there fish outside in a hole in the ground but I think it takes all the enjoyment out of the hobby.

A fish doesn't have to be rare or incredible for someone to want to keep it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

How do you know that he/she doesn't know how to care for these loaches?

Jiang604 said that his/her water temperature is 5 to 8 degrees celsius, so it seems that he/she already has a chiller (or just lives somewhere cold).

Sorry if I sounded harsh, but that's just how I talk sometimes. :)

Let's see as I have a little more info then you... The guy is posting here and asking for incite on how and where to home them. He lives in BC,Canada which if far from being cold and had to store them outside in an unheated greenhouse when they landed in BC due to their 44 degree temperature in the shipping box when landing at the airport. They where shipped with ice bottles in the shipping box. Since they were stored outside I take it he didn't have a chiller or was properly setup to hold them for any extent of time. He sold the majority if not all of them in less then a week.
So I will be paying close attention for all the updates that we should have in the coming months and years on all these rare loaches that were brought in and sold and now sitting in other peoples tanks.
